All
players
MUST HAVE COMPLETED A MEMBERSHIP
FORM
with Rec Center.
2. There will be no officials for games, so the rules below
will be regulated by players. Any report of unsafe play, un-sportsmanship like
conduct or inappropriate behavior could result in loss of Rec. Center
Membership.
3. Each game will consist of two 15 minute halves (without
stoppage time). A 5-minute half time will be allotted.
4. A team consists of 6 players and no
designated goalkeeper. There can be a sweeper player from each team defending
the goal, but they would be unable to use their hands. The sweeper player can
be anyone on the team and switch as often as needed. In the case of handling the ball near the
goal, a penalty kick will take place (hands may be used in this case).
5. In the case of a
tie during regular season play, each team will receive 1 point.
See item 6 for post-season tiebreaker.
Point scale:
Win - 3
Tie - 1
Lose - 0
The standings (seeds) are calculated with points after each
game. The winner of regular season is the team with maximum points. If 2 or
more teams are on the same points after regular season, goal difference (Goal
Difference (GD) = Goals For (GF); Goals against (GA)) is used to determine the
winner (Highest GD).
6.
During post-season (single elimination
tournament) if the score ends in a tie, there will be one 5-minute overtime.
Golden goal rule = team that scores first will win the game.
If
scores are still tied, penalty shootout will take place. Each team will have 5
assigned players and an assigned goalkeeper (goalkeeper cannot be changed
during shootout). After 5 kicks, winner is determined. After 5 kicks, if there
is no winner, sudden death is used, where the team that misses first loses.
7. From a kick off (decided by rock, paper, scissors), the
ball must be played forward. A goal CANNOT be scored directly from a kick off.
8. No tackling from behind or dangerous slide tackling is
allowed.
9. Dangerous play is not allowed. Any dangerous plays, confrontational actions,
or other excessive behavior will result in removal from the game and possible
termination of Rec. Center membership.
10. SHIN PADS & SOCKS ARE REQUIRED.
11. Players are not permitted to use objects that might
endanger them or others, including any kind of accessories & jewelry.
12. Unlimited flying substitutions. Players can re-enter
the game as many times needed without stopping the games for substitutions.
Substitutions must be made in the substitution area (orange cones). A
substitute player can only enter after the player they are substituting is off
of the court.
13. There is NO offside in Futsal, and players can score
from anywhere in the court of play.
14. When the ball goes out over the sideline, it is then
placed on the sideline; it must be stationary and kicked into the court to
another player. All opposing players must be at least 9 feet from the ball, the
foot not kicking the ball must be OUT of the court or part of the foot touching
the side line.
15. A goal cannot be scored directly from a sideline

16. The game has a 5 second time limit at all kick-ins,

free kicks, unless the team awarded the free kick decides to take a quick free
kick.
18. Hand ball is when a ball touches a player from the
shoulder down (not including the shoulder). A deliberate hand ball will be
awarded with a direct free kick/penalty to the opposition. An accidental hand
ball will be awarded an indirect free kick to the opposition. Female players
are allowed to protect their chest and groin areas and male players are allowed
to protect their groin area with their hands and arms, as long as there is no
movement of the hands and arms towards the ball.
19. Each team has 5 team fouls per half, any fouls after the
5th will be penalty kick
